Why I’m Starting This Blog
Welcome.
My name is Bonnie, and this blog is about rebuilding a life, pursuing a dream, and becoming a nurse one step at a time.
For over two decades, I was focused on raising my children, caring for others, and doing my best to keep everything together. Like many women, I often put everyone else’s needs ahead of my own. Somewhere along the way, I lost sight of who I was and what I wanted for my future.
Today, I’m writing a different chapter.
I’m a pharmacy technician, a mother of six, a nursing student, and someone learning that it’s never too late to start over.
My Journey So Far
Healthcare has always interested me. Working as a pharmacy technician gave me a front-row seat to patient care and taught me the importance of compassion, attention to detail, and teamwork.
As I continued working in healthcare, I realized I wanted to do more. I wanted to be directly involved in caring for patients and making a difference during some of the most important moments of their lives.
That realization led me to pursue CNA training and continue my education with the goal of becoming a registered nurse.
The road hasn’t always been easy.
Like many adult students, I am balancing work, family responsibilities, finances, and the challenges of returning to school later in life. Some days are exciting. Some days are exhausting. Most days are a combination of both.
But every class completed, every exam passed, and every step forward brings me closer to the future I’m working toward.
Why “Scrubs & Starting Over”?
Because this journey is about more than nursing school.
It’s about rebuilding confidence.
It’s about discovering who you are after life changes.
It’s about learning that starting over doesn’t mean starting from nothing–it means starting with experience, wisdom, and resilience.
The scrubs represent the future I’m working towardd.
The starting over represents the courage it takes to keep moving forward when life doesn’t go according to plan.
